Horizon Records is an American independent record label, started as a folk and blues record label by Dave Hubert in 1960.
It was originally distributed by World Pacific Records. When Vee-Jay Records acquired World Pacific in 1963, it also took over the distribution of Horizon. From 1974-1978 the label became a subsidiary imprint of A&M Records, primarily for issuing the music of jazz artists.
In 1979, the label struck gold with the debut releases of Brenda Russell and the Yellow Magic Orchestra and The Imperials.
Recently aquired by a new independent and under new management,
Horizon is now located in Orange County, California, taking on new cutting edge artists, such as D' London. |
